How Hot Foil Stamping Works

The hot foil stamping process involves creating a brass die. The die is cut on a CNC Milling machine. It is then inserted into the blocking press in register to the piece. This is known as make ready. The die is then heated to the required temprature. Next, a piece of foil is placed on the surface of the book or leather good. Finally, the die is pressed onto the foil, which adheres to the surface.
